Men's Hoops Extends Its Streak With Win Over Lancaster Bible

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team extended its recent win streak to 11 games with a decisive 93-76 victory over United East rival Lancaster Bible at the Capital Union Building on Wednesday night, Jan. 19.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In a rematch of the 2020 conference championship game, Penn State Harrisburg (14-1, 7-0 United East) led by as many as 40 points in a drubbing of Lancaster Bible (8-6, 4-1 United East) on Wednesday night. Donyae Baylor-Carroll led the way with a game-high 19 points, Nate Curry went a perfect 5-for-5 from the field to tally 14 points, Dylan Daniels finished one rebound shy of a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds, Pedro Rodriguez scored a dozen points off the bench, Brandon Coleman added 10 points, and Zegary Scott III finished one bucket shy of a double-double with eight points and 10 assists.

The Chargers scored the game's first basket and led 6-5 at the 16:07 mark of the opening half. From there, it was all Penn State Harrisburg.

The Lions scored 10 straight to take a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the way. Coleman buried a 3-ball off a Chris Haynes assist to push the advantage to double digits with 7:05 left in the first half and a Daniels layup off a feed from Scott in the final minute before the break stretched the lead to 20 at halftime.

Baylor-Carroll burst to life early in the second half, converting a pair of free throws before knocking down three consecutive jumpers from beyond the arc, including one from well beyond the NBA 3-point line following a steal and assist from Curry that made it 59-32 at the 17:33 mark.

A few minutes later, Coleman, Curry, and Rodriguez continued the hot shooting from 3-point territory to put the rout in full force, with Curry's final triple upping the advantage to 82-42 with ]12 minutes left to play. Rodriguez pushed the pace and found Alex Leiba for a dunk a few possessions later.

With things well in hand, the Blue & White reserves got into the scoring act, as Lance Douglas hit a jumper from the elbow before Robert Bobeck capped the team's point total with a pretty layup with less than two minutes remaining.
