Harshbarger Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

AUSTIN, Texas - Thanks to his combination of athletic and academic prowess, Penn State Harrisburg baseball player Drew Harshbarger has been named Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

 

Harshbarger joins former standout Bret Williams as Penn State Harrisburg baseball players to earn the accolade. He joins 11 other players from the state of Pennsylvania as honorees from CoSIDA's NCAA Division III District 4.

 

The starting pitcher recently earned United East All-Conference First-Team recognition for the second straight season. The senior made 11 starts during the 2022 campaign, throwing 58 total innings, recording a 2.48 earned run average (ERA), and racking up 84 strikeouts. The McVeytown, Pa. native's strikeout total ranks 20th in the nation, while his 13.03 strikeouts per nine innings rank 28th in the country. He was named the United East Pitcher of the Week in late March. 

 

In addition to helping lead Penn State Harrisburg to its second straight conference championship this spring, Harshbarger continued to excel in the classroom. He currently holds an impressive 3.90 cumulative GPA as an Electrical Engineering major.
