Williams Named to D3baseball.com TOW For Second Time

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – After turning in a monster performance in four games last week, Penn State Harrisburg's Bret Williams has been named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

It's the second time this season he's earned a spot on the organization's national honor roll and comes after he was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Baseball Player of the Week on Monday.

Williams had a tremendous week at the plate in helping lead the Lions to three victories. In a road win over Keystone on Monday, the senior drove in three runs and scored three more, with his solo home run in the fifth inning giving the Blue & White a lead they would not relinquish. The Mount Carmel, Pa. native followed it up by going a combined 5-for-7 with three home runs, including his second grand slam of the season, a double, eight RBI, eight runs scored, and four walks in conference victories over Lancaster Bible on Saturday. For the week, Williams slashed .467/.619/1.333 with an impressive 1.952 OPS. He hit four long balls, scored 12 runs, and drove in 11 more to go along with six walks, a stolen base, and 20 total bases.

The Lions return to action when they host No. 15 Shenandoah for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon, April 13.
