Williams Earns Conference Player of the Week Recognition

LATHAM, N.Y. – Thanks to his outstanding performance across four games last week, Penn State Harrisburg's Bret Williams has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Baseball Player of the Week.

He joins pitchers Drew Harshbarger and Zach Gettys as Penn State Harrisburg players to earn the conference's weekly accolade this spring.

Williams had a tremendous week at the plate in helping lead the Lions to three victories. In a road win over Keystone on Monday, the senior drove in three runs and scored three more, with his solo home run in the fifth inning giving the Blue & White a lead they would not relinquish. The Mount Carmel, Pa. native followed it up by going a combined 5-for-7 with three home runs, including his second grand slam of the season, a double, eight RBI, eight runs scored, and four walks in conference victories over Lancaster Bible on Saturday. For the week, Williams slashed .467/.619/1.333 with an impressive 1.952 OPS. He hit four long balls, scored 12 runs, and drove in 11 more to go along with six walks, a stolen base, and 20 total bases.

The Lions return to action when they host No. 18 Shenandoah for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon, April 13.
