Middletown, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg baseball team clinched a playoff spot as the #6 seed this weekend with their win against #11 Salisbury. Below is the original article written by the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) on Saturday April 16th:
Frostburg State secured the top seed in the CAC Baseball Tournament for the second straight season with a doubleheader sweep at St. Mary's on Saturday, the final day of the conference regular season.

As the No. 1 seed, the Bobcats (22-8, 13-5) will host championship weekend of the double-elimination CAC Tournament, set for Thursday through Saturday at Bob Wells Field.

The CAC first round is set for Tuesday. No. 1 Frostburg State will host No. 6 Penn State Harrisburg, No. 2 Marymount will host No. 5 Christopher Newport, and No. 3 Salisbury will host No. 4 Wesley.

Five of the six CAC playoff spots were locked up entering Saturday's regular season finales, with only the No. 6 seed up for grabs. Needing one win to secure its first-ever CAC postseason bid, Penn State Harrisburg (17-19, 9-9) split its twinbill with Salisbury, earning a 15-3 game one win before the Sea Gulls bounced back with a 15-8 nightcap victory. The split bumped the Sea Gulls (20-10, 12-6) down to the No. 3 seed.
Marymount swept past Southern Virginia with scores of 8-5 and 8-4 to claim the No. 2 seed. The Saints (20-15, 12-6) finished tied with Salisbury at 12-6, but swept the Sea Gulls in their two regular season matchups.
Wesley (19-15, 11-7) and Christopher Newport (25-11, 10-8) entered Saturday's finales with playoff spots already firmly in hand, and split their twinbill in Newport News. Wesley shutout the Captains in game one, 8-0, but CNU responded with a 5-4 win in game two. The split gave the Wolverines the No. 4 seed and CNU the No. 5 seed.
Needing a sweep and some help to earn the No. 6 seed, Mary Washington (24-15, 7-11) came out firing with a 21-9 home victory over York (8-25-1, 6-12) in the opener, but fell 5-3 in the nightcap to end its playoff hopes. UMW head coach Wayne Riser won his 600th career game in the game one victory.
