Harrisburg, Pa - Penn State Harrisburg wants to recognize its outstanding Student-Athletes who are excelling in the class room and on the field. This fall across all 17 of the Intercollegiate Teams, 68 Student-Athletes earned a 3.5 GPA or higher, placing them on the Fall Deans List. Congratulation to the following Student-Athletes:
Middletown, Pa. – The Penn State Harrisburg men’s golf team has one of their all-time best golfers taking the head coaching reigns in the Spring of 2018. Tyler Shank, a former Penn State Harrisburg four year starter, has been named the head men’s and women’s interim golf coach. Shank was the assistant coach during the Fall season.
Rome, GA- Allison Cooper is tied for eleventh after day one of the Chick-Fil-A Invitational at the Coosa Country Club. Cooper posted a 79 (+7) on the 5800 yard course placing her 5 strokes behind Johnna Beehner from Methodist University. Cooper enters the tournament as the 50th ranked play in all of Division 3 Women's Golf and is one of nine nationally ranked players participating in the tournament. Pottstown, Pa- Allison Cooper picked up her third tournament victory of the fall, winning the Ursinus Fall Invitational by posting a score of 73 (+2). The tournament featured players from eight universities and Millersville University took home the team championship.
Penn State Harrisburg junior Allison Cooper was selected as the CAC Women's Golfer of the Week after winning a pair of tournaments to begin the year. Cooper began the year with the individual title at the Bay Creek Invitational, carding a two-day total of four-over-par 148 to defeat the second-place finisher by six strokes. Cooper followed up that performance with another victory at the Penn State Harrisburg Invitational. She shot a two-day total of 159 (+17), winning by two strokes.
Harrisburg, Pa- Allison Cooper won Penn State Harrisburg's Womens Invitational posting a two day total of 159 (+17). Cooper posted a score of 80 on day one and held a one stroke lead. All of the golfers were challenged by the 5,800 yard course, but Cooper rose to the challange and posted a score of 79 on day two, winning the tournament by two strokes over Franklin & Marshall's Anelise Browne. The two were paired together throughout the tournament. Gettysburg won the team portion of the tournmaent posting a team score of 730 (+162).
Cape Charles, Va- Allison Cooper shoot 148 (+4) to win the Bay Creek Women’s Invitational Tournament. At the tournament Christopher Newport took home both the Men’s and the Women’s Team Championships. Our Men’s Golf team took fifth at the tournament.
