Middletown, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg women's cross country team has had to perservier through this year:  adjusting to a new coach, new conference, and with the plenty of new faces to this years roster that would make you feel it is also a new team.  

The adjustments are the growing pains of the 2013 season.  The Lions are now competeting reguarly against top caliber programs from all division levels.  Saturday at the Gettysburg Invitational, Harrisburg had to run against more than a few division II schools like Millersville and Shippensburg.  Not to mention some of the powerhouse Dvision III schools like Saturday's overall winner Dickinson, third place Lebanon Valley, and fourth place Gettysburg. 

The Blue and White finished 26th of 27 teams, finishing ahead of Valley Forge Christian. Rachel Sechrist led the squad with a time of 29:13.  She was followed by Alisha House, Amy McMullen, Oneisha Gaines-Rodge,  Nicole Lindie, and Yamin Lin.  

The women are coming to the end of  this season being able to see the light at the end of the long tunnel.  Thier is still a lot of work to be done, but now know what it takes to compete at this level.  With first year head coach Danielle Lynch at the helm, the future looks bright for this young program.  

Penn State Harrisburg will hope to have its best outing when it matters most, at the CAC conference championships Saturday November 2nd at Salisbury University.
