How It Happened

Penn State Harrisburg fell in non-conference action to Marywood University by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday September 24.

 

The opening set was highly competitive with the teams trading the lead. Harrisburg offense was powered by Brittany Ebaugh who recorded 17 kills in the match. The Pacers used three straight points to close the opening set victory.

 

The Lions would respond in the second set, scoring four straight points midway through to take control. Melanie Sheaffer and Ebaugh powered the offensive attack while Alexis Imler, who had a season best 35 assists, put Harrisburg in position to win the set. Harrisburg would win the set 25-20.  

 

The Pacer would answer back, capitalizing on attack errors by the Lions to capture the third and fourth sets in route to the 3-1 victory.

 

 

Inside the Numbers

- Brittany Ebaugh led the Lions offense with 17 kills

- Alexis Imler recorded a double-double with 35 assists and 11 digs

- Megan Morris paced the defense posting 14 digs

- Harrisburg won the kill battle 42-31
