Women's Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has honored Penn State Harrisburg with an AVCA Team Academic Award for the group's strong performance in the classroom during the 2018-19 campaign.

Penn State Harrisburg is one of a record 1,125 programs honored by the organization this season. The award, initiated during the 1992-93 academic campaign, recognizes collegiate and high school volleyball programs that display academic excellence during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA on a 4.00 scale.

Last month, the Lions saw nine players in Kari Ammerman, Cheyanna Buckingham, Corrinne Cook, Jewel Crumbley, Megan Hamm, Katelyn Hossler, Alexis Imler, Kerri Miller and Brittany Wolf named to the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) All-Academic Team for earning GPAs of 3.2 or higher for the academic year.
