How It Happened

Penn State Harrisburg Women's Volleyball 2018 campaign came to a close when the Lions fell in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) tournament to #2 seeded Christopher Newport.

The Captains took advantage of several long runs to build large leads in the first and second sets. Trailing by two sets, Harrisburg's season was on the line in the third set. The Captains held a 20-12 advantage halfway through the set, when the Lions would rally. Kills from Brittany Wolf, Cheyanna Buckingham, and Katelyn Hossler would pull the Lions within four. Harrisburg's block would then bother the Captains hitting with Melanie Sheaffer and Buckingham picking up blocks to pull the Lions within two points. The teams would trade points and after a kill from Victoria Sweatlock, the Lions would trail 23-22. After a Captains point, Hossler would answer immediately with a kill cutting the lead to one, but they could not manage to tie the set falling 25-23.

- Cheyanna Buckingham led the Lions with 7 kills

- The Captains won the kills battle 39-21
