Women's Volleyball Falls to Frostburg State

Middletown, Pa.- After a tough match at Southern Virginia, the Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball team looked to get their first conference win this evening against Frostburg State. The women dominated the opening set but fell after three sets to the Bobcats, (25-21, 25-16, 25-11). 

During the first set, Harrisburg led the visitor's 9-1. The Nittany Lions continued to play well throughout the opening set but Frostburg State was able to come back and win 25-21. The second set was also close but the home team went on to lose the second and third set, 25-16 and 25-11. There were several strong individual performances for the Nittany Lions. Junior Melissa Orlandini (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) led with 5 kills and 2 digs. Freshman Jill Elkins (Lousia, Va. / Louisa County) and Sophomore Casey Stump (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) each had 4 digs. Stump also had a total of fourteen assists for the day. 

The Nittany Lions will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, October 31st. The women will face fellow CAC competitor Mary Washington at 1 pm.
