Blue and White Volleyball Dominates Valley Forge

Middletown, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball team came out strong this evening against non-conference opponent Valley Forge. The Nittany Lions won the first two sets, 25-15, and 25-12, before falling in the third set. The women rebounded and came out stronger then ever in the fourth set, winning 25-7.

It was easy to see in the first few minutes of the match that Harrisburg was ready to play. Freshmen Madison Chace (Paso Robles, Ca. / Cedar Cliff) led the team with an impressive total of 17 kills and 10 digs. She was closely followed by teammate Melissa Orlandini (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) who also had 13 kills and 11 digs. On the offensive end, Casey Stump (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) had a season high of 42 assists. This effort combined with Chace and Orlandini was enough to send the Lions to victory.

Head coach Randy Hood was very happy with his team's performance, "The team came back very strong in the fourth set after losing the third and played their best set of the night. There were exceptional performances from Chace, Stump, and Orlandini."

Harrisburg returns to play on Saturday against Hood. It is an away match for the Lions and is scheduled for 11 am.
