Penn State Harrisburg Beats Rosemont

Dallas, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball team traveled to Misercordia University this morning to face the hosting team and Rosemont College. The Lions lost their first match of the day against Misercordia but went on to beat the Ravens in their second match.

In the first match, the Lions fought hard against a difficult team but lost after three sets (25-20, 25-17, 25-11). The women regrouped after their loss and came out strong against Rosemont. In the first set they showed they were ready to play and wanted a different result. The Lions were led by Kari Ammerman (Troy, Pa. / Troy Area) and teammate Melissa Orlandini (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin). Together, Ammerman and Orlandini had a combined total of 16 digs. This combination made it very difficult for Rosemont to attack. The Lions won the match after three sets (25-6, 25-12, 25-23).

Penn State Harrisburg returns to play on Wednesday September 16th. The Lions host Penn State Altoona at 7 pm.
