Harrisburg Late Push Not Enough at Altoona

The Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball team was not able to pull out a win over Penn State Altoona on Wednesday September 24th despite a late surge forcing additional games.

Harrisburg got off to a rocky start as Altoona picked up the first two sets 25-9 and 25-11. However, the Lions refused to quit and came out firing in the final two sets.

With the match on the line, the Lions came out strong in game three winning 25-22 and forcing a fourth set. Junior Kiara Carter (Bronx, NY/Milton Hershey) came up big for the Lions once again with seven kills, followed by Sophomore Izabella D'Onofrio (Clarksboro, N.J.) who had five kills.

Unfortunately, the Blue and White could not pull out the fourth set and despite putting up a valiant effort fell short to Penn State Altoona 3-1.

Harrisburg drops to 1-12 on the season in hopes to change the game plan Saturday Sept 27th at home against Bryn Athyn.   The match starts at 1:00 pm. in the Capital Union Building.
