Lions Stumble at Dickinson

Lions Stumble at Dickinson

The Blue and White women's volleyball team is still looking for their first win of the year after facing a tough Dickinson College team Wednesday September 9th.  The Lions suffered their seventh straight defeat, a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Red Devils.

Harrisburg did have a few bright spots on the night.  Meghan Sheaffer (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra Area) was stong on the attack leading the team with four kills on the night.  An impressive feat considering she is coming off an ankle injury from the previous weekend.  Kiara Carter (Bronx, N.Y. / Milton Hershey) also pitched in, finishing just behind Sheaffer with three kills.

Unfortunately, Dickinson left everything on the floor starting and finishing the night strong.  The Red Devils took the first set quickly 25-12.    Harrisburg hoped to bounce back from the first set, but instead found themselves going down 25-12 and 25-10 in the final two games.

The Lions defense was not able to handle the Dickinson fire power.  As a team the Blue and White only had 17 digs compared to Dickinson's 46.  The Red Devil's also had seven service aces without allowing the Lions any.

Harrisburg will hope to turn things around Saturday September 13th when they host Rosemont and Misericordia.  The Home teams game times are 10:00 am and 2:00 pm with the visitors playing each other at noon.
