Lions Battle but fall at Gettysburg Opening Tournamanent

Gettysburg Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball team got off to a rough start falling to Shenandoah and Dickinson in straight sets.  The Lions kept the score tight most of the night, but just did not have the final touch to win out and force extra games.

Harrisburg has looked strong from the start of training camp.  The team is tall, hardworking, and showing they are a strong unit on the court.  Unfortunately, starting off their season against two very quality squads was just a bit too much for the women to handle in their opening tournament.

Shenondoah University started the season off for the lions taking the lead early and rolling to a three set win 17-25, 19-25, 14-25.  After some time to review their mistakes and prepare for Dickinson College the women appeared ready to go.  Their first set against the red devils did not go as the Lions would have liked, taking a quick loss 14-25.

The lions did not allow the difficult start to work them down.  Instead they finished their last two sets of the day playing their best volleyball.  Harrisburg forced Dickinson to give everything on way to winning in three sets with the final two games score of  21-25 and 20-25.

Harrisburg will get a chance to rebound tomorrow when they face off against Washington College and Bridgewater University for the finish to their opening tournament at Gettysburg College.
