NEW YORK – Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's track & field program wrapped up its weekend of competition in New York at the Lions Indoor Invitational hosted by the College of New Jersey on Saturday night, Jan. 12.

The Lions were in action against athletes from a variety of schools, including a number NCAA Division I and Division II programs the likes of Rutgers and St. John's. Despite the top-level competition, the Blue & White impressed in a number of events.

For the second day in a row, Jalil Clayton turned in a stellar performance. One day after breaking his own program record in the 60m hurdles, he was top Division III finisher in the event on Saturday. The senior earned a runner-up finish thanks to a time of 8.18 seconds. He also came home 12th in the 200m dash with a scamper of 22.82 seconds.

In the throwing events, it was Cameron Yon showing off his skill in the weight throw with a top toss of 15.80 meters. The effort was good enough to earn him third place in the event. He also just missed out on a top-five finish in the shot put, as his top effort of 12.81 meters clinched sixth place.

Alex White had another strong outing, clinched a top-five finish of his own in the high jump with a top bound of 1.95 meters; good enough to secure him the best finish of any Division III competitor. He also added a top-10 finish in the long jump. Fellow field athlete Andrew Bomberger had a big night as well, breaking the program record in the pole vault thanks to a top effort of 3.85 meters.

On the women's side, Rae Rae Taylor moved into second place on the program's record book in the 60m hurdles with a mark of 9.69 seconds. She also earned a top-10 finish in the long jump, as her best leap of 5.19 meters was good enough for eighth.

Sarah Lehman also continued to build towards bigger things with solid efforts in both the triple and long jump events. In the long jump, she clinched seventh-place with a mark of 5.22 meters before claiming fifth place in the triple jump with a bound of 11.25 meters.
