Selinsgrove, Pa.- Over the weekend, the Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's track and field teams had two very successful days at two separate events. Several athletes broke school records or had personal bests.

On Friday evening, Sophomore Ashley Williams (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area High School) traveled to the Sykes and Sabock Challenge Cup at University Park. Williams ran in the women's 60 meter hurdles where she placed fifteenth. Williams was competing against some of the top runners in the country and women from Division one schools.

Both teams hit the road on Saturday for Susquehanna's Annual Challenger Cup. On the women's side, Ashley Peart (West Orange, N.J / West Orange High School) placed twelth in the long jump and thirteenth in the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 27.85 seconds. Teammate Joseph Fallon (Stroudsburg, Pa. / Stroudsburg) placed 24th in the shot put with a distance of 9.48 meters. William's also raced in Saturday's 60 meter hurdles with a third place finish.

Freshman Cameron Yon (Patuxent River, MD / Great Mills High School) posted a 14th place finish in the men's weighted throw and a 15th in the shot put. Charles Scheick (Doughlassville, Pa / Daniel Boone) was close behind Williams with a 16th place finish in the 400 meter dash. Freshman Jared Alpaugh (Wilmington, DE / Concord High School) came through for Harrisburg with top finishes in the men's long and triple jump. Head Coach Danielle Lynch was very happy with both team's performances, "While we were a split squad this weekend with competitions at both University Park and Susquehanna University our teams' collective efforts made for a great weekend.  Several school records were broken and our team was able to compete against other CAC schools in preparation for our upcoming conference championship."
On Sunday February 21st, several athletes from both the men's and women's teams will travel to Christopher Newport for the 2016 Capital Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
