Williams Reaches Top Ten Nationally in 60 Meter Hurdles

Lewisburg, Pa.- Over the weekend the Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's track and field teams participated in the 18th Annual Bison Open held by Bucknell University.  Several student athletes took home first and second place in their respective events.

Freshman Ashley Williams (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area High School) came in second in the women's 60 meter hurdles. Williams time of 9.05 seconds has placed her tenth in the nation for the event. Over the last two meets, Williams has placed first and second in the hurdles. Ashley Peart (West Orange, N.J / West Orange High School) placed nineteenth in the women's long jump.
 

Vladhimir Theophile (Reading, Pa. / Cherry Hill East High School) led the men with a first place finish in the 400 meter dash. Teammate Jalil Clayton (Chester Pa. / Chester High School) also ran in the men's 400 meter dash with a ninth place finish. The men's relay team placed fifth overall in the 4x400 relay race.

Both teams will travel to Penn State University, University Park for the Sykes Sabbock Invitational on Friday February 5th. The meet time has not yet been announced.
