Lions have good showing at Christopher Newport Invitational

Penn State Harrisburg track and field traveled Sunday to fellow Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) member Christopher Newport to compete in the Vince Brown Invitational.  This weekend's meet was the last shot for the Blue and White athletes to set times and records in hopes of competing in the CAC indoor championships later this month.

With only a handful of team members competing this weekend, the Lions were still able to finish a few members in high spots despite the Division I competition also attending.  Showing well on the men's side was Josiah Owhe (Westbury N.Y./ Westbury) who finished 16th out of 40 in the long jump with a 6.22 meter jump and a strong showing in the 60 meter dash finishing 26th out of 75 with a time of 7.19 seconds.   Also with a strong weekend was Joseph Phifer (Union, N.J. / Union).  Phifer finished 15th in the 400 meter and 7th in the 800 meter, both events had over 65 men competing.

On the women's side, Katlin Gould (Camp Hill, Pa/ Cedar Cliff) finished 9th in the pole Vault with a 3.20-meter jump, 32nd in the 400 meters with a 1:04.44, and 28th in the 200 meters with a 27.34 time.

Both track teams will take two weeks off before traveling back down to Christopher Newport to compete in the CAC Indoor Championships on February 21st
