Women's Tennis Edges Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg held off a game Misericordia squad and secured a hard-fought 5-4 road victory on Friday afternoon, Oct. 4.

 

The Lions (4-1) earned a pair of wins in doubles action, with the top duo of Rachael Lim and Sydney Nye defeating MU's Hannah Bonk and Erika Slowicki 8-2, while Gabrielle Sabatose and Abigail Clifford topped Kayla Remlust and Nicole Pangiochi 8-3 in the No. 3 contest.

 

Nye picked up her second win of the day when she bested Bonk 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles matchup, while Vaishnavi Datta went over Slowicki 6-3, 6-1 in the second outing. Sabatose's victory in the No. 6 contest proved the difference, however, as she came away with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Lauren Visaeli to give Penn State Harrisburg the overall victory.

 

The Blue & White will finish off the fall portion of their 2019-20 schedule when they host Albright at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 10.
