MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team notched its second Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) victory of the season by downing Frostburg State 6-3 at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon, April 13.

The Lions (7-10, 2-4 CAC) faced a small deficit following doubles play, as the pairing of Sydney Nye and Elysse Mellott was the only team to emerge victorious. The duo won the No. 1 outing 8-6 over FSU's Sammi Turner and Shea Przywieczerski.

Things improved for the Blue & White in singles action, with the home team taking 5-of-6 matches from the Bobcats. Nye worked hard to earn a 7-5, 1-6, 6-0 three-set win over Jenna Lipinski in the top spot, while Maria Torre went 6-2, 7-5 over Turner in the No. 2 match. Mellott made quick work of Cherise Jenkins in a 6-1, 6-1 victory in the third contest, Claire Hackenberg picked up a 6-4, 6-1 decision against Przywieczerski in the No. 4 slot and Soorya Chitibabu closed out her day with a 6-3, 6-1 besting of Sophia Staggers in the fifth outing.

The Lions will host their final home match of the spring when they welcome Lancaster Bible to the Hoverter Tennis Complex for a non-conference tilt on Thursday afternoon, April 18.
