Nye Wins Two Straight at #1 Singles
Middletown, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg women's tennis team faced off against the York College Spartans on Friday April 13th and the Frostburg St. Bobcats on Saturday April 14th in Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) play.  Despite suffereing two defeats as a team, the Lions #1 singles player, Sydney Nye had a 2-0 weekend at the top spot.
 
Harrisburg fell to York College on Friday 8-1, but the teams lone win came from the top singles spot courtesy of Sydney Nye.  Nye dominated her first set 6-2, but fell the same way in the second set forcing a tie-breaker.  Nye kept her cool and came out victorious with a 10-5 win in the final set. 
 
On Saturday, Nye helped the Lions to win two games in the 7-2 loss to Frostburg St.  At the number one doubles spot, Nye and Courtney Bennett defeated the Bobcats top pairing 8-5.  Nye continued her winning ways from the week with a 6-3, 6-2 sweep at the #1 singles spot.
 
Harrisburg has th week off before closing out the season at home against Southern Virginia on Saturday April 21st.
