The Lions struggled at home Sunday March 22nd when the women's tennis team took on Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) opponent St. Mary's (Md.) College. The Lions took on the Seahawks for their first match of the 2015 spring season. They fell to the Seahawks 9-0.
In singles action, the Seahawks were able to take all 6 single matches. Sophomore Cassidy Straw (Dillsburg, Pa / Northern) had a strong performance for the Lions. Straw stayed close during her match but lost the first set by a score of 6-3. In the second set she again had a great performance but again fell in the end 6-3.
In doubles St Mary's was able to control all 3 pairing but the combination of Jessica Miller (Manheim, Pa/ Manheim Central) and Shawna Brandt (Jonestown, Pa/ Northern Lebanon) did manage to take 2 games from the Seahawks before losing the match 8-2.
The Lions will be in action next this upcoming Saturday when they travel to CAC foe Christopher Newport for their match starting at 10 a.m.
