Blue and White Lose Tight Match to Southern Virginia

Hershey, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg women's tennis team moved their match against the Southern Virginia Knights indoors to the Hershey Raquet Club to avoid the weather and be able to compete on Friday April 11th.

The match was tight from the start with just a few games making the overall difference in a what was a competitive enviroment for both sides.  Harrisburg found themselves down 2-1 after the initial doubles pairings, getting their win from #1 doubles pair Theodora Avramidis / Stephanie Harnden 8-5.

Singles action was tight in the one through four spots, with both teams splitting.  Harnden took a win at the #2 singles in a third set tie breaker.  Quite an impressive comeback win after losing the first set 0-6.   Laura Lin won the #4 spot also in a third set tiebreaker.

Unfortunately, the Lions were forced to settle with a 6-3 loss to the Knights.  Harrisburg travels to face off against Frostburg State Saturday.
