WINCHESTER, Va. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team played Shenandoah even in nearly every statistical category save for one, as the hometown Hornets found the back of the net twice and the Lions could not in a 2-0 setback on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 21.

After an opening 30 minutes that included only three shots on goal, Shenandoah (4-3-1) struck first when Kylie Malone found the back of the net in the 32nd minute.

After the break, Penn State Harrisburg (2-4-2) had an opportunity to tie things up when Katelyn Monette got off an attempt in the 51st minute but Shenandoah goalkeeper Kasie Kilmer turned the shot away. Seven minutes later, the home team struck again when Kirklyn Wilson doubled the lead with a goal off an Audrey Atwell assist with 31:27 left to play.

With much of the rest of the game played between the 18's, the Lions got off just two more shots on frame in the final 30 minutes. The first from Serenity Hill was turned away in the 78th minute and the last look from Julia Hughes was stopped with less than two minutes remaining.
