MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team was edged 2-0 by No. 24 TCNJ at home on Saturday night, Sept. 7.

The Lions (1-2-1) were able to evade non-stop pressure from TCNJ (3-0) for almost a full 48 minutes before the away Lions' Rachel Burkhard sent a impressive corner into the back of the net to put TCNJ up 1-0.

At the 79-minute mark, Burkhard scored her second goal of the night off a corner from Alyssa Alfano and a subsequent scuffle directly in front of the net. Throughout the match, however, Penn State Harrisburg goalkeeper Sydney Mulka had a number of clutch saves that kept the away team within reach.

Before the end of the first half, Katelyn Monette shot two lasers that went just wide left of TCNJ goalkeeper Ellen Williams, which proved to be the sole real attempts on target throughout the entirety of the contest.

NOTABLES

- Penn State Harrisburg had only five shots on the night, compared to TCNJ's 16 attempts.

- Julia Hughes and Monette accounted for 4-of-5 of the Lions' total shots.

- Mulka earned five saves in goal for the Blue & White.

- Fouls plagued the home team, as they tallied 14 total penalties.
