How It Happened

Penn State Harrisburg (8-9-1, 6-2-1 NEAC) had an offensive explosion, scoring a single-game record 12 goals in a shutout win over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe Wells (0-12, 0-9 NEAC) on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 26. Harrisburg's Rhyan Socash, Elizabeth Clippinger, and Hollie Holthaus each recorded their first career collegiate hat tricks.

The Blue & White did not take long to find the back of the net, when Sydney Hemler found Rhyan Socash for the Lions opening goal of the game in the third minute. Moments later Hemler would find Elizabeth Clippinger for her first goal of the contest. The offensive flurry continued when Katie Kosovac found an opened Eden Haldeman in the box, and Haldeman buried her second goal of the season.

Harrisburg's offense continued its momentum in the 24th minute when Socash passed to a wide open Clippinger for her second goal of the game. Hollie Holthaus would get on the act, scoring goals in the 27th, 30th and 32nd minutes, completing her hat trick and putting Harrisburg ahead 7-0. Clippinger would strike again in the 32nd minute to complete her first career hat trick. Socash's second goal of game in the 35th minute, putting Harrisburg ahead 9-0 heading into the half.

Amanda Thoryk opened scoring in the second half, recording her first collegiate goal in the 59th minute. Rhyan Socash completed her hat trick, scoring in the 60th minute putting Harrisburg ahead 11-0. Madison Hemler closed the scoring, recording her second goal of the season in the 68th minute.

- Hannah Williams recorded five saves, helping Harrisburg to their third shutout of the season
