W. Soccer Earns Second Consecutive USC Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second year in a row, the United Soccer Coaches (USC) has honored Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer program with the organization's 2018-19 College Team Academic Award.

 

Under head coach Adam Clay, the Lions are one of 684 women's teams across NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III to earn the academic accolade. To be eligible for the USC honor, a team must have earned a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2018-19 academic and athletic year. As a unit, the Blue & White posted a combined GPA of 3.52 during the 2018-19 campaign.

 

Harrisburg saw an impressive 21 players in Casey Albright, Sheila Ansary, Kayla Arnold, Danielle Bressler, Megan Carver, Elizabeth Clippinger, Kaylie Derrickson, Romina Dichio, Tabitha Fake, Mackenzie Haladay, Eden Haldeman, Madison Hemler, Hollie Holthaus, Katie Kosovac, Jenna Alaoui, Paige Sharrow, Kaeleigh Smedley, Bailey Smith, Rhyan Socash, Haley Vavrek and Morgan Wilson named to the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) 2018-19 All-Academic Team for their success in the classroom last season.

 

The Lions return to action when they travel to Morrisville State for North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
