How It Happened:

Harrisburg's offense challenged the Eagles defense in the first half, creating several scoring opportunities, but the Lions could not capitalize on any of their seven shots. The Eagles would score off a corner kick in the 9th minute and hold the 1-0 advantage going into the half.

The Lions would continue to push the attack in the second half constantly pressuring the Eagles defense. The Blue & White would final catch a break when Rhyan Socash was attempting to control a ball in the box; she was fouled setting up a Lions penalty kick. Madison Hemler would take the penalty kick, perfectly placing the shot past the goalie, tying the game at one. The tie could not be broken in regulation, so the game went to overtime. In the 94th minute, the Lions would draw a foul just on the other side of midfield. Once again Hemler stepped up to take the free kick, and she placed it at the feet of Mackenzie Haladay in the box. Haladay would then drill the ball past the goalie, into the back of the net, giving the Lions the victory.
