Penn State Harrisburg Upsets Mary Washington

Middletown, Pa- After a difficult loss to Christopher Newport this past weekend, the Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer came out strong this afternoon against Mary Washington. The game remained scoreless all the way through the first seventy-three minutes. The Nittany Lions proved to be the better team by winning 2-1.

The first half was very evenly matched and both sides had several quality scoring opportunities. The Eagles got the first goal of the game off of a corner kick in the seventy-forth minute of play. The Nittany Lions bounced back 15 seconds later with their first goal of the game. Sophomore Leann Kazawic (Stanhope, N.J. / Sussex Tech) crossed the ball to the far post where teammate Kylie Courtney (Honey Brook, Pa. / Twin Valley) was waiting to send the ball to the back of the net. It was only two more minutes before Harrisburg got their second goal of the game. Freshman Kristen Stark (Lancaster, Pa. / Donegal) crossed the ball across the entire field to teammate Erica Hile (Ickesburg, Pa. / West Perry). Hile took a touch and shot the ball to the upper ninety at the far post. Harrisburg was able to shut down the visitors for the rest of the game and finished off their season with a great win.

As of this afternoon, the Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team has scored the most goals out of any team in the CAC. The women scored a total of 27 goals throughout the 2015 season. They finished the year with an over all record of 6-9-1 and 4-5 in conference.
