Penn State Harrisburg Shuts Down Lancaster Bible

Lancaster, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team had a great day at non conference opponent Lancaster Bible College. The women scored two goals in the first half and then dominated the rest of the game both offensively and defensively.

In the first few minutes of the game, Harrisburg had several scoring opportunities but the first goal of the game came in the eleventh minute of play. Freshman Kristen Stark (Lancaster, Pa. / Donegal) played a beautiful cross across the box to Alyssa Crowley (Sunbury, Pa. / Shikellamy) who slid it straight past the keeper and into the back of the net. It did not take long for Harrisburg to get on the board for a second time. In the 17th minute Sophomore Erica Hile (Ickesburg, Pa. / West Perry) played a ball through Lancaster Bible's defense for Stark to run onto. Stark touched the ball past the goal keeper and then easily placed it into the goal for the second goal of the game. Harrisburg kept a zero for the rest of the game due to several big saves by goalkeeper Samantha Kutcher (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick)

Head Coach Adam Clay was happy with the team's result, "It wasn't our best game but we are thankful for the result, we hope to take this momentum into our conference game on Saturday in hopes of winning our third straight."

Harrisburg will host Southern Virginia on Saturday October 17th. The game is not only an important conference game but is also Senior Day for four Penn State Harrisburg women. Game time is scheduled for 12 pm.
