Five Ladies Earn All-Conference Status

MIDDLETOWN, Pa.- Five Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer players earned all-conference status on Wednesday, Nov. 2.  The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) named freshman defender Lindsey Haldeman (Grantville, PA/Hershey Christian) to the league's all-conference first team.  Senior forward Jessie Manion (North Wales, PA/North Penn) and freshman defender Bridget Brady (Boyertown, PA/Brandywine Heights) earned second team all-conference honors while senior defender Lacey Eitl (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) and freshman forward Nikki Francis (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) were voted third team all-conference selections.

Haldeman started every one of the Lions' 14 games this season and was as consistent as they come.  Despite playing defense, she scored five goals, including one game-winner, and added six assists.  She was also one of the squad's corner kick specialists.

Manion, a four-year player and one of the team's 2011 senior captains, also started all 14 contests.  One of Penn State Harrisburg's most potent offensive weapons, she tallied five goals, one of which was a game-winner, and recorded three assists.

Brady was another of the Lions' most consistent performers during the 2011 campaign.  She started every one of the team's matches and while known primarily for her defense and corner kick prowess, she notched one goal, a game winner, and added an assist.

Eitl, the team's only other four-year player and 2011 senior captain, played in 13 games in her final season donning the blue and white, starting them all.  Her abilities as a gritty, defensive specialist helped the Lions hold their opponents scoreless seven times this season.

Francis was undoubtedly Penn State Harrisburg's offensive newcomer of the year.  Starting all 14 contests, the speedy forward was never far from the ball as she scored a team-high ten goals, four of which were game winners, and added four assists.
