Lady Lions Roll Pass the Patriots, 10-0

MIDDLETOWN, PA - Sophomore Allie Rank (Halifax, PA/Halifax)recorded a hat-trick while Lady Lion newcomers, Megan Frailey(Middletown, PA/Middletown) and Lindsay McNeal (Hershey, PA/Hershey), both knotted in two goals to lead Penn State Harrisburg to a 10-0 victory over Valley Forge Christian College in the season opener.

The Lady Lions, now 1-0 on the season, took aim with 30 shots, 19 in which were on goal, at the Patriot keeper Kaitlyn Antolic, who finished with 9 saves. The blue and white defense allowed seven shots while only surrendering one corner kick against the Patriots.

Rank, Frailey and McNeal scored the game´s first six goals in just the first half. Sophomore Jessi Manion (North Wales, PA/North Penn) scored in the 48th minute followed by Rank´s the third and final goal to cap off the hat-trick. Corinne Mazzotta (Haddam,CT/Haddam-Killingworth) and Allison Collins (Mechanicsburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt) finished up the Lady Lion scoring with a goal of their own in the second half. Both Mazzotta and Frailey were able to collect two assists with McNeal and Valerie Calvano(Haymarket, VA/Battlefield) each collecting one.

Valley Forge Christian College dropped to 0-1 and face off against Philadelphia Biblical College on Saturday. The Lady Lions run into Immaculata College on Saturday at 12:00 P.M. at Penn State Harrisburg.
