WASHINGTON - Penn State Harrisburg's women's basketball team defeated conference foe Gallaudet 59-50 in a narrow road victory on Tuesday night, Jan. 30.

Ciani Redd-Howard recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Giahny Correa scored a team-high 15 points and swiped three steals. Bailey Oehmig rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points and Jayla Galbreath led the team with five assists and added eight points.

With Penn State Harrisburg (10-11, 8-1 United East) leading 54-50 with less than a minute and a half remaining, Redd-Howard crashed the boards for an offensive rebound and got tied up with Gallaudet's Cassidy Perry which resulted in Perry's fifth and final foul, while Redd-Howard was sent to the line for two. Redd-Howard sunk both shots from the charity stripe to put the visitors up by six.

The Lions forced Gallaudet (13-7, 6-2 United East) into a quick turnover on the other end before Correa went coast to coast and got fouled on her layup attempt. Correa's pair of makes at the foul line put the game just out of reach for the Bison with under a minute left in the contest.

The first quarter left both teams tied up 14-14 but the Lions came out strong in the second quarter with an 11-0 run that began with a jumper from Redd-Howard and a driving layup by Correa before Oehmig finished the series off with a shot from beyond the arc.
