How It Happened

The Penn State Harrisburg Women's Basketball team fell at Eastern University 93-62 despite a career outings from Ana Mahan and Symone Grant. Mahan posted a double-double leading the Lions in scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Grant would add a career-high 17 points.

The Lions struggled to find their offensive rhythm early in the first quarter falling behind 12-6. Harrisburg would pull back within three, when Anna Mahan would gather in an offense rebound and find Rachel Miller for a deep three-pointer. Later in the quarter Laurel Amey would drive to the basket and kick the ball to a wide open Briana Davis to tie the game at 13. The Eagles would hit a three-pointer right before the end of the quarter to hold a 17-15 lead entering the second quarter.

The Eagles opened the second quarter on a 9-0 run, holding a 26-15 lead midway through the quarter. The Lions' Symone Grant would be extremely productive off the bench in the later portion of the second quarter scoring 10 points late to keep the Lions within 8 points heading into the half.

Eastern would take control of the game in the third quarter, going on an 18-4 run building a 20-point advantage. The Lions would attempt to answer back with Shanique Mattis and Kendis Butler knocking down three-pointers, but the Lions could not cut into the deficit trailing 67-49 entering the fourth quarter.

Harrisburg could not slow down the Eagles' offense in the fourth quarter, falling 93-62.

Inside the Numbers

- Ana Mahan recorded her first career double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds

- The Lions bench outscored Eastern's bench, 21-15

- Eastern's Regie Robinson scored her 1,000th career point early in the first quarter

- Symon Grant exploded offensively in the second quarter scoring 10 of her career high 17 points

The Lions will return home to face Wilkes University on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m.
