Dolce Double-Double Not Enough to Take Down First Place Saints

Middletown, PA – Penn State Harrisburg hosted the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) top seeded Marymount Saints on Wednesday February 14th.  The Lions played their first twenty minutes with precision and took a 20-19 lead into the locker room.  Unfortunately, they were not able to keep the pace and shots falling for them in the second half.  The Saints used a dominating third quarter and then eased into their 21st win of the season.

How it Happened:

The Lions proved to themselves in their most recent game against Christopher Newport that they could play with anyone in the CAC.  Despite the three-point loss, it was likely the best performance the Blue and White have played all season.

Marymount came into the game tonight tied for first place with Newport and realized very quickly that the Lions game on Saturday was not a fluke.  Harrisburg started strong as both teams struggled to score early.  Tied at eight to start the second quarter, Harrisburg was not only hung tough with the first place team, but took a 20-19 lead into the locker rooms.

The Saints used a 20-9 run during the third quarter to build a ten-point lead to start the fourth.  They continued to push the ball and scored off the break as the Lions
