Middletown, PA – Penn State Harrisburg Women's Basketball team fell to local CAC foe York despite a monster effort from Tessa Dolce. Dolce scored 23 points while gathering in 14 rebounds. The Lions offense also got a boost from Rachel Miller who added 11 points.

How it Happened:

The Lions got off to a strong start when Rachel Miller knocked a three-pointer to go ahead 5-3. Free throws from Tessa Dolce and layup from Shanique Mattis would help grow the lead as large as four, but the Spartans would answer. York would use three-point shooting to surge ahead building a seven-point lead entering the second quarter. The Spartans continued the momentum going on a 9-3 run during the opening minutes of the quarter. The Lions would answer with a 13-2 run to close the quarter sparked by a deep three-pointer from Janel Brown. Mattis and Miller would add threes of their own to go into halftime trailing by two.

 

The Spartans would dominate play in the third quarter, as the Lions could not find consistent answer falling behind by seventeen entering the fourth quarter. The Lions would attempt to rally going on a 9-0 midway through the second half, sparked by layups from Dolce and Laurel Amey. Harrisburg was unable to pull within ten falling 71-60.
