Gwynedd Valley, PA – Penn State Harrisburg could not overcome an early deficit against Sage College falling in the consolation game of the Gwynedd Mercy tip-off tournament. Shanique Mattis led the Lions offensively with 18 points and 10 rebounds. All-Tournament team member Janel Brown added 14 points and 8 rebounds.

How it Happened:
Penn State Harrisburg fell behind by 14 points in the first quarter before going on 10-0 run led by Shanique Mattis and Jada Pettis. The Lions trailed 20-14 entering the second quarter, where both teams played evenly. A Janel Brown 3-pointer would cut the Gators advantage to one with 5:08 to go in the half. Katie Kosovac would tie the score at 31 seconds later, but the Gators took back control ending the half on six point run.
The Blue & White would once again fall behind by double digits in the third quarter and entered the final quarter down by 10 points. Harrisburg did not quit, slowly cutting into the lead. Kosovac would finish a layup with 18 seconds remaining to cut the Gators lead down to two. After a couple of Gator's free throws, Mattis would push the ball down the floor and once again cut the advantage down two with only 10 seconds remaining. Sage would hit two more clutch free throws to hold on 62-58.
