    2 school records were broken this season. An incredible 30 different records were changed during the 2017-2018 season among 4 student-athletes.
  • Dolce Earns Second Team All-CAC Honors

    Fredericksburg, Va.- Senior Women’s Basketball player Tessa Dolce has been named second team All-CAC for her efforts this season. Dolce led the conference in Field Goal Percentage and Offensive Rebounds Per Game and was third in Total Rebounds. For the season, Dolce averaged 14.4 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game while compiling 11 Double-Doubles this season.
  • 68 Student-Athletes Make Fall Dean's List

    Harrisburg, Pa - Penn State Harrisburg wants to recognize its outstanding Student-Athletes who are excelling in the class room and on the field. This fall across all 17 of the Intercollegiate Teams, 68 Student-Athletes earned a 3.5 GPA or higher, placing them on the Fall Deans List. Congratulation to the following Student-Athletes: 
  • Double-Doubles from Three Lions Helps Take down Seahawks

    St. Mary’s City, MD - The Penn State Harrisburg women’s basketball team closed out their 2017-2018 season on the road against the St. Mary’s Seahawks on Saturday February 17th. After a tight first half, the Lions took control of the second half on way to a 72-54 win.
  • Dolce Double-Double Not Enough to Take Down First Place Saints

    Middletown, PA – Penn State Harrisburg hosted the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) top seeded Marymount Saints on Wednesday February 14th. The Lions played their first twenty minutes with precision and took a 20-19 lead into the locker room. Unfortunately, they were not able to keep the pace and shots falling for them in the second half. The Saints used a dominating third quarter and then eased into their 21st win of the season.
  • Brown, Mattis Record Double-Doubles On Senior Day

    Middletown, PA – Penn State Harrisburg upset bid against conference foe Christopher Newport fell just short despite an excellent effort from the Lions on Senior Day. Senior Tessa Dolce recorded a double-double with 22 points and gathering 10 rebounds. Fellow Janel Brown also recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Lions also got gutsy efforts from Shanique Mattis, Laurel Amey, and Rachel Miller whom all played the entire 40 minutes. 
  • Dolce Posts 23 Points and 14 Rebounds

    Middletown, PA – Penn State Harrisburg Women’s Basketball team fell to local CAC foe York despite a monster effort from Tessa Dolce. Dolce scored 23 points while gathering in 14 rebounds. The Lions offense also got a boost from Rachel Miller who added 11 points.
  • Schedule Changes Due To Inclement Weather

    Harrisburg, Pa- Due to the Inclement Winter Weather the Men's and Women's Home Basketball games on February 7th against York College are canceled. These games will be rescheduled for Thursday at February 8th at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. We will participating in our White Out Cancer Game with all proceeds benefiting THON. 
  • Eagles End Lions Playoff Hopes

    Fredericksburg, VA – The Penn State Harrisburg women’s basketball team traveled to face off against the Mary Washington Eagles on Saturday February 3rd. The fourth place Eagles took an early lead on way to a 73-63 win. Unfortunately, the loss puts the Lions officially out of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) playoff hunt.

  • Dolce 22 Not Enough to Tame Bobcats

    Middletown, PA – The Penn State Harrisburg Lions hosted the Frostburg State University (FSU) Bobcats on Wednesday January 31st.  The Lions played tough throughout most of the contest, but Frostburg’s 13-20 from three-point land was a significant factor.  With a strong start and finish to the game, the Bobcats were able to head home with an 80-68 win despite a 22-point night from Tessa Dolce. 
  • Amey Posts 16 Points and 8 Rebounds

    Buena Vista, VA – Penn State Harrisburg Women’s Basketball team could not overcome a strong second half effort from Southern Virginia falling in its road matchup. Shanique Mattis led the offense Lions in scoring with 17 points. Laurel Amey had one her best games of the season scoring 16 points and gathering 8 rebounds. Tessa Dolce posted another double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
  • Dolce Scores Career High 28 Points
    January 24, 2018
    Dover, DE – Penn State Harrisburg’s Women’s Basketball team would overcome a fourteen point halftime defect to force overtime against CAC foe Wesley. The Lions would fall in overtime, despite a career night from senior Tessa Dolce. Dolce scored a career high 28 points while gathering in 14 rebounds. Janel Brown also had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
  • Harrisburg Falls to Seagulls in Tale of Two Halves
    January 20, 2018
    Middletown, PA – The Penn State Harrisburg Lady Lions gave a valiant effort against the Salisbury Seagulls on Saturday January 20th.  After a tight first half with multiple lead changes, Salisbury finished the final five minutes with a 10-1 run to take a 31-24 lead into the half.  The Seagulls were able to keep the momentum and a gain control in the second half on way to a 73-42 win. Janel Brown scored her 100th career 3-pointer midway through the first quarter and now is fifth in school history in made three-pointers.
  • Lions Take Conference Leader Marymount To The Limit
    January 17, 2018
    Arlington, VA - The Penn State Harrisburg Women’s Basketball team went on the road to face CAC undefeated Marymount with something to prove. The Lions fresh off their first conference win Saturday, knew they could compete and play spoiler. For 35 minutes, the Lions put Marymount on their heels, staying within 4, if not leading. Not until the Lions were forced to foul late in the game did the Saints escape the upset 46-63.
  • Lady Lions Pick Up First CAC Victory over Seahawks

    Middletown, PA – The Penn State Harrisburg women’s basketball team came into their game against the St. Mary’s Seahawks on Saturday January 13th with nothing but a win on their mind.  Harrisburg dominated for three straight quarters, holding a 20 plus lead, before the game tightened in the fourth quarter.  The Blue and White held strong on way to the Lions first Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) victory 64-55.

    York, PA – Penn State Harrisburg was unable to overcome a strong second half effort from York College, despite a strong efforts from Shanique Mattis. Mattis scored 18 points while gathering 9 rebounds. Tess Dolce also added 18 points and 9 rebounds.

    Newport News, VA – Penn State Harrisburg Women's Basketball team struggled in their road match-up against #2 Christopher Newport. The Lions failed to find any offensive success in the first quarter falling behind early by double-digits and were unable to recover. Tessa Dolce led the Lions with 9 Points while gathering in 8 rebounds.

    Reading, PA – Penn State Harrisburg used a strong team effort to defeat Alvernia University to pick its fourth straight win. Janel Brown scored a career high 20 points inclulding add three more three-pointers to her league leading total. Shanique Mattis also added 20 points to help power the Lions to the victory.
  • Amey Scores 16 As Lions Win Third Straight

    South Abington Township, PA – Penn State Harrisburg used a 12-4 in the first quarter to build an early lead and controlled the rest of the game in route to a 19-point victory over Clarks Summit. Laurel Amey led the Lions offense with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Janel Brown knocked down four three-pointers and now leads the CAC with 30 made three-pointers this season.  
  • Mattis Scores Career High 23 Points As Lions Rally For Win

    Lancaster, PA – The Penn State Harrisburg Women’s Basketball team used a late rally to win a thrilling non-conference match up against Lancaster Bible. The Lions would use a 20-3 run over the last six minutes of the fourth quarter to overcome an 11-point deficit. Shanique Mattis led the Lions with a career high 23 points. Harrisburg also got a strong performance from Briana Davis, who hit a couple timely three-pointers.
  • Mattis Scores 17 As Lions Get Back To Winning Ways

    Harrisburg, PA – Penn State Harrisburg Women’s Basketball team snapped its 6-game losing streak, beating Delaware Valley in a nonconference matchup. Shanique Mattis led the Lions with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Tessa Dolce had a strong performance posting 13 points. Briana Davis added 13 rebounds for the Blue & White.
  • Lions Fall At Salisbury

    Salisbury, MD – Penn State Harrisburg once again could not overcome an early deficit and fell to Salisbury in CAC action. The Lions got a great effort off the bench from Briana Davis who scored a season high 17 points. Tessa Dolce continued her excellent season recording a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

    Frostburg, MD – Penn State Harrisburg fell in CAC action to Frostburg State, despite an impressive effort from Tessa Dolce. Dolce recorded 20 points to lead all scores and added a team high 7 rebounds. Janel Brown added 14 points including 4 three-pointers. The Lions could not overcome a 20 point third quarter by the Bobcats.
  • Mattis Scores Season High
    November 25, 2017
    Middletown, PA – The Lady Lions came out firing taking an early lead over the visiting Southern Virginia Knights on Saturday November 25th.  The Knights were able to regroup and keep a double-digit lead for most of the second and third quarters before the Lions battled in the game’s final minutes.  Harrisburg worked the lead down to only two points in the final minute, but Southern Virginia made their free throws down the stretch to hold on for the 83-78 win.  
  • Lady Lions Fall in First CAC Game of Season

    Middletown, Pa. – The Penn State Harrisburg women’s basketball team played host to Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) foe Wesley College on Tuesday November 21st.  Janel Brown and Tessa Dolce combined for 25 of the Lions 45, but Harrisburg was unable to slow down the Wolverines in the second half as the visitors went home with a 59-45 win.

    Gwynedd Valley, PA – Penn State Harrisburg could not overcome an early deficit against Sage College falling in the consolation game of the Gwynedd Mercy tip-off tournament. Shanique Mattis led the Lions offensively with 18 points and 10 rebounds. All-Tournament team member Janel Brown added 14 points and 8 rebounds.
  • Missed Free Throws Prove Costly in Loss to Gwynedd Mercy

    Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – The Penn State Harrisburg Lady Lions traveled to face off against the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins on Saturday November 18, 2017.  Both teams went back and forth through most of the early part of the game, but eventually Gwynedd Mercy pulled away and finished the game with a 61-50 win.   
  • Brown, Dolce Post Double-Doubles In Win

    Langhorne, PA – The Penn State Harrisburg Women’s Basketball team got strong efforts from its two seniors Tessa Dolce and Janel Brown who each posted a double-double. The Lions built a six-point lead in the first quarter, taking control of the game thanks to a decisive advantage in rebounds 56-21. The offense got a boost from Shanique Mattis who scored 14 points for the Blue & White. The Lions defense forced 14 turnovers in route to the victory.
