Middletown, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball team gave nationally ranked Christopher Newport a solid effort Saturday afternoon as the Lion's dominated three of their four quarters against the Captains. Harrisburg led for most of the matchup before Newport pulled ahead in the fourth and held on to win 63-46.

Game Highlights:
-Penn State Harrisburg outscored the Captains in the first quarter 14-12 thanks to several key individual efforts by the Lion's. Kaitlyn Carmo finished her nine points of the day in the first to give Harrisburg a solid lead on the Captains. Carmo's three pointer with 52 seconds to go in the first put the Lion's on top 12-8

-Tessa Dolce hit two straight layups to give the Lion's a 22-14 lead in the second with three minutes to go to the half. Harrisburg held on to this lead for the next three minutes before Newport came back to cut Harrisburg's lead to three with 2:12 to go. Harrisburg led at the half 22-19

-Newport opened up the second half with a steal and a bucket before Alexis Nolan sank a three to extend Harrisburg's lead to four points. Newport took the lead back with 7:35 to go, 28-27. Nolan finished her second three of the day to take the lead back, 31-30. Ana Edmondson made a jumper with 13 second to go to trail by two before Raven Ransom made a free throw to bring Harrisburg within one as they headed into the final quarter.
