Saint’s Backcourt Tough to Handle For Lady Lion’s

Middletown, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg Lady Lion's hosted the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Marymount Saint's on Wednesday January 21st.  Harrisburg kept a tight first half against the Saint's, but the visitor's guards stole the game from the Lions in the final minutes to win 53-38.

The game was back in forth throughout the first half. The young Lions held their composure early on, answering back to the Saint's offensive presence.  Junior Jasmine Yanich (Harrisburg, Pa. / Susquehanna Township) made two tremendous 3-pointers to keep Marymount in their sights, as they trailed by just three at the end of the first half.

For the majority of the second half the Blue and White played well defensively leaving the game open to whoever could start making shots. Unfortunately, as the clock wound down so did the Lions shooting, only making 6 out of 27 from the field in the second half made it difficult to keep pace.

Kiara Carter (Bronx, NY. / Milton Hershey) swept the boards by collecting 17 rebounds.  Kaitlyn Carmo (Pamyra, Pa. / Palmyra Area) earned herself 17 total points in Wednesday's contest.  All great efforts, but the impressive guard play and the scores the Saint's produced from the backcourt helped them leave the gym with their eleventh win of the year.

The Blue and White will take on the CAC's top team, the Salisbury Seagulls Saturday, January 24th at the Capital Union Building with a tip-off starting at 1pm.
