Middletown, Pa. – The Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball team struggled against the Immaculata Mighty Mac's full court press that eventually helped the visitors to claim a 62-51 victory Monday January 5th at the Capital Union Building.
The Lady Lions were forced to go bucket for bucket in the early minutes of the first half, but after falling three points behind at the 14:41 minute mark, Harrisburg was forced to turn things up. The Blue and White used a 12-0 run over a five minute stretch to take a 20-11 lead with 9:05 to go in the half.
After the large run, Immaculata went to a full court press that disrupted the Lions offense immensely. They slowly worked themselves back into the game and by the halftime whistle the Mac's were ahead one, 25-24.
Coming out of halftime the Blue and White looked to get back to the success they started the first half with. Unfortunately, the Mighty Mac's pressed hard off the bat and the Lady Lions struggled again to beat the full court press. Immaculata built up an eight point lead with eight minutes left and did not let up on the pressure as they were able to come out on top 62-51.
The Lions have just a two day break before getting back to Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) action when they host the Southern Virginia Knights at 6:00 pm.
