Lady Lions Fall in Consolation Game to Alvernia

The Penn State Harrisburg Women's Basketball team lost a tough one against Alvernia by the score of 78-67 in the Consolation game of the McDaniel's Tip-Off Tournament. 

 The Nittany Lions started slow and were outscored 37-27 during the first half of play.  Harrisburg refused to let this determing the outcome of the game and came out inspired in the second.  Kaitlyn Carmo (Palmyra, Pa/ Palmyra Area) kept the Lions in the game with 11 first half points. 

The Blue and White were outscored by just one in the final 20 minutes of play  40-41, eventually losing the game 78-67.  Tyra Roberts for Alvernia finished the game to lead all scorers with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 0 assist, and 1 steal. While Carmo finished the game with 23 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block.  Carmo also earned herself a position on the All-Tournament team with her solid play over the two day period. 

Head Coach Ross Patick had this to say following the game.  "The girls really did some great things on the court today, put some things together, and now just have to continue building on the positive momentum from today and apply it to practice this week as we prepare for the Susquehanna tournament."

With the loss Penn State Harrisburg drops to 0-2. The Lady Lions look to bounce back with a win when they play Staten Island to open up the Susquehanna University Tip-off Tournament on Saturday Nov. 22 at 6pm.
