How It Happened

The Penn State Harrisburg softball team traveled to face Southern Virginia in a conference double header.

After Southern Virginia took the lead in the bottom of the first inning, Harrisburg looked to even the score in the fourth inning. Bruno worked her second walk of the game and stole second base. She would then advance to third on an error by the Knights short stop, but the Lions could not get the timely hit they needed.

While Harrisburg offense struggled to score, starting pitcher Allison Hartman settled in and dominated the Knights offense. Hartman would hold Southern Virginia to just four hits, striking out eight batters.

With Hartman firmly in control, the Lions offense continued to create scoring opportunities. In the sixth inning, Bruno would earn her third walk of the game.
