Frostburg, MD. – Penn State Harrisburg Softball fell to Frostburg State in CAC action. The Lions got a solid pitching performance from Kaylee Simon who pitched six inning allowing six hits and three runs. Offensively Nina Bruno led the Lions going 3-4 in the doubleheader.

How it Happened:
The Lions got off to a slow start in game one falling behind by five runs after the third inning. The Lions would attempt to get rolling in the fourth inning with Katie Humphrey and Allison Hartman both driving singles into center field. The Lions could not convert that opportunity falling to the Bobcats.
Harrisburg would reset for game two and after falling behind in 1-0 in the first inning, the offense would get on the board in the second inning. Carlee Gochenaur drew a walk and Kristen Evans would reach on error by the third baseman that allowed Gochenaur to move over to third. Evans would then attempt to steal second base, drawing a throw from the Bobcats catcher allowing Gochenaur to score.
The Lions would take the lead in the third inning. Nina Bruno would start the rally by driving a single to right field. Erelle Sowers would move Burno into scoring position setting up Humphrey. Humphrey would hit a ground ball toward first base. The first baseman would attempt to tag her, but Humphrey would run through the tag, jarring the ball out of the fielder's glove and reaching base, allowing Bruno to score. The Bobcats would answer with a two-run homerun in the fifth inning and hold on for the win.
