Lions Continue Postseason Push at Wilson

Chambersburg, Pa. – With the season coming to a close and Penn State Harrisburg still in contention for a postseason bid, every game is crucial.  The Blue and White took game one in convincing fashion 13-2 before dropping game two 5-1 but were still able to keep their playoff dreams alive.

Game one saw the Lions getting off to a hot start and setting the tone early in Tuesday's double-header.  Harrisburg tallied three runs in the opening inning off of RBI singles by Rieley Loch (Madison Township, Pa. / North Pocono) and Kayla Seyfert (Lebanon Pa. / Cedar Crest).  Penn State continued to pour it on in the following inning with another four run outburst led by a Loch solo home run and a Emily Parmer (Willow Street, Pa. / Solanco) triple.  Wilson finally got on the board in the bottom of the second scoring their only two runs of the game.  The Blue and White scored another six runs between the fourth and fifth innings to take game one 13-2 in five innings.

The Lions struggled to continue their offensive dominance in game two.  Both teams remained scoreless through the first four innings of play.  Harrisburg finally broke the stalemate in the top of the fifth when a Jackie Furch (Hallstead, Pa. / Blue Ridge) single and a Wilson error allowed Loch to cross home.  The Phoenix responded with four runs in the bottom of the fifth and another run in the sixth to take game two 5-1.

Penn State Harrisburg will return to action Wednesday April 29th when they travel to Valley Forge for a season finale double-header beginning at 4 p.m.
