Loch Named NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – This past week, Penn State Harrisburg's Rieley Loch (Madison Township, Pa. / North Pocono) just kept hitting and hitting and hitting.  The freshman helped lead the Blue & White to four North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victories and the league took notice of her impressive offensive output, naming her the NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week for the time period ending Sunday, Apr. 21.

Loch started the week off by scoring two runs in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader against Juniata before going a perfect 4-4 at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored against the Eagles in game number two.  She followed it up by coming up clutch and driving in the game-winning run in Harrisburg's 1-0 victory over NEAC-leading Penn State Berks on Wednesday, Apr. 17.  The loss was Berks' first conference defeat of the season.

In the ladies' opener against St. Elizabeth three days later, Loch hit a solo home run and scored twice.  As an encore, she drove in her second game-winning run of the week in Penn State Harrisburg's 3-2 nightcap victory over the Screaming Eagles.  She kept on rolling during the Lions' sweep of Gallaudet on Sunday, Apr. 21, going 3-4 at the dish with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored in game number one before adding two more runs and another RBI in the finale.

Loch was also perfect in the field, recording 37 putouts and four assists while splitting time between catcher and first base.  For the week, she racked up a .583 batting average, as well as a .621 on-base percentage and an .875 slugging percentage.  Loch currently ranks third in the NEAC in total bases (55) and fourth in hits (36).
