XC Wraps Up Season at CAC Championship

BUENA VISTA, Va. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their 2018 campaigns at the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Championship, hosted by Southern Virginia at the Buena Vista Golf Course on Saturday morning.

 

Both programs earned eighth-place finishes as a group in their respective races, while Sephora Senestant's 78th-place finish led the way for the women and Kadeem Willis' 84th-place effort was tops among the men.

 

Senestant ran a 31:50.3 in the 6K event to earn her finish, while teammate Katelyn Gormley crossed the line less than two seconds behind her in 79th.  Nicole Wang and Jennifer Ross came home 87th and 88th, respectively, while Jameraquai May, Laura Hernandez, Alli Hontz and Aiyala McPhee rounded out the women's contingent.

 

Willis posted a 31:17.0 to lead the men in the 8K event, while fellow Lion Mekael Kassu came home just behind him in 85th-place thanks to a time of 31:18.3. Dominick Hogans, Cole Hovis, Carter Newman, Jerome Jackson and Zachary Shenk completed the group of runners on the men's side.
