Christian Leads at Dickinson Invitational

Carlisle, Pa.- The men competed at the Dickinson Long Short Invitational this morning against some of the top teams in the region. The men had some additions to their squad this week in hopes to strengthen their depth.

Junior Korey Christian (Cartlandt Manor / Walter Panas)  led the Lions with the time of 14:38, closely followed by Jordan Fuhrman (Lancaster, Pa. / Hempfield High School), who was only three seconds behind, running a time of 14:41. Although Fuhrman led the men for most of the race, Christian out kicked him in the last straightaway, placing 132nd and Fuhrman placing 133rd in the race. The newcomer Ethan Brackbill (Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley High School) was third to finish of the pack, with the time of 15:54, earning him 169th place.

The Nittany Lions ran fast times this morning and continued to improve on their ability to run in packs and have greater depth. By running in pairs, they were able to push each other out in the course and have stronger finishes. Many athletes were asked to step up for the team and run longer distances than they are used to in order to help their depth in preparation for the CAC Championships. As the season progresses, the Lions continue to impress and become a better team as a whole. With the Conference Championships just a month away, they hope compete with strength and resilience against the challenging teams of the Capital Athletic Conference.

The men will now prepare to host their 1st Annual Bud Smitley Invitational at home on October 2nd. This will be an opportunity for the Lions to showcase their speed and endurance to their colleagues and fans on their new home course.
